      Everyone were polite and everything, but they make their decision based on some ephemeral "values" that have no bearing on actual performance and that they try to discover during a 30-60 minutes behavioral interview (which does not work, according to multiple studies, for example by Daniel Kahneman). I worked for much bigger companies pretty successfully for more than a decade, but in Personio apparently I failed a behavioral interview for some reason which they did not disclose. The core problem of behavioral interviews is that it is impossible to determine if a candidate is a good fit in such a limited time (30-60 minute call), and that interviewers are subject to cognitive biases that allow subjective preferences to overshadow objective assessments, which means that less qualified candidates can be hired on the basis of "good" interviews (which may mean nothing more than being able to rapidly establish a personal connection with their interviewer), while more qualified candidates are rejected on the basis of "bad" ones simply because they couldn't answer some ephemeral questions the way their interviewers expected. If you are searching for a company to grow in as a software engineer, I would say that Personio is not the best choice. You will find some friendly people here, but apparently not the most qualified for the job.

      First round, is an engineering manager round and straight froward. Engineers vibes in coding and system design are quite odd, doesn't seem like a good workplace for work. A good mock if you want to practise some coding and system design.

      Really nice. Had to design a calendar app. That send out messages to a user at a desired time that app needed to be scalable. It had to be a micro service. No coding. Just explaining and drawing graphs.

      The interview process per se was not that bad, even if I felt some step was redundant, with interviews that have overlapping scopes, the interviewers look all very nice and decently open to understand your thoughts (at least this was my impression), plus I found the format of the coding interview useful for assess my knowledge and understand on what your will work on (you are going to analyze the codebase of a fictional service and use the code as a starting point for discussing about architecture, optimizations and fix a bug). The thing that gave me the feeling of a huge lack of professionality is the following: After passing successfully all the stages (even the last stage looked like it went good, according to the interviewer reaction) and showing interest in getting an offer (I've reached reach out the recruiter which just ghosted me), I got an automated message to communicate that they weren't going to move on with an offer, but giving me the possibility to book a slot with the recruiter and get a feedback. I've booked a slot and waited one week, the recruiter canceled the event 30' before the start. I have invested time in this process and being rejected for no reason and without possibility to have a communication with the company. At the end I didn't feel so sad for not having received an offer
