      The application process began with a diagnostic assessment (presented as a 20-minute task) immediately after submitting my application and cover letter. I completed that thoughtfully and moved on to a phone screening with a recruiter. Afterward, I was asked to complete a detailed assessment related to San Francisco ADU permitting, which I also submitted with care. Following that, I was scheduled for an interview with the Director of Operations. The first interview was canceled with a phone call beforehand, which I appreciated. We rescheduled for the same time the next day (Thursday), but the meeting was canceled again—this time at the exact minute it was supposed to begin. A recruiting email apologized and offered to reschedule. When we finally did reschedule, the Director didn’t show up. I waited on Zoom for 20 minutes (of a 20–30 minute call) and sent a polite email five minutes in, offering to stay on or reschedule—no reply, and no follow-up since. This process was incredibly unprofessional. Candidates are expected to invest hours completing assessments and preparing for interviews, only to be canceled on multiple times and ultimately ghosted. Having worked at a startup, I can confidently say this reflects what you’ll likely face inside the company: disorganization, a lack of communication, and upper management squeezing team members with little regard for their time or contributions. Save yourself the energy!

      They reached out to me on LinkedIn about this role. I was told they’d call me in the afternoon, but I never got a call. They asked me to answer a list of questions and send my resume. They never setup a call or an interview. This place also does unlimited PTO which is code for there’s pressure to take as little time off as possible. Very weird experience. I wasn’t looking for a new job so spending extra time and energy on this to get ghosted was a major bummer. Hopefully this was a one off and they’re typically better.

      I had an incredibly unprofessional interview with this company & really disappointed with how they handled it. After submitting my initial application I got an email to complete a basic competency assessment, then received a meeting invite for a HR screening. The interviewer was very pleasant & friendly but couldn’t answer a single one of my very basic questions about the company, after failing to answer anything properly about the role, company direction or their basic HR policies (policies that were mentioned on the careers page that I had to point out to them) they admitted to only working there for 2 weeks and didn’t yet know any of this info and would have to get back to me…which they never did. Instead a week later I got a generic no reply email saying they are not moving forward . I reached out asking for very basic feedback with no response. Such an unprofessional way to handle hiring, I completely understand that as a new hire there is a learning curve but I got the sense they really didn’t know about the role so how they were assessing my ability to be qualified for it I don’t know. This hindered the interview process and my ability to answer questions thoroughly, had the conversation been with someone from the actual team it would have been much more productive.
