Phone Screening by a lady in their talent acquisition/recruiting department was a quick couple of questions about experience and the normal stuff to determine if follow up will happen.
She scheduled the virtual (Teams) interview with a couple of people from the team / department who would be supervisors/managers. Approximately 40 minutes in length with a more conversational approach leading off with an explanation of the role and company at a high level followed by a couple of the normal questions about experience and why do you want to work here. They said I will hear from the First Lady as far as follow up one way or another within about a week or so but we will see. (We've all heard that before and then hear nothing but crickets, right?)
Update: within about a week or so, I received the follow-up from the talent acquisition/HR lady asking my availability to hop on a call with her regarding feedback she had for me— expected a "we decided to go with someone else." To my surprise, a verbal offer was extended asking me to verbally accept or decline basically on the spot with minimal details she wasn’t 100% clear on… said she would have a written offer to me the following day, which she did. I countered asking for $3 more an hour than the offer and asked when I had to accept or decline. She said they needed my answer the next day, but she hadn’t heard back about my counteroffer, so we would end up waiting for that… which took a couple of days and was a "no-go." I had to try since we only get one starting rate of pay that will often ultimately dictate one's career earnings potential. Having had the deadline pass, I accepted the offer without further negotiation. Received an email from a third party to begin the background check process. After signing and sending, received an email informing me I would have 5 days from then (a Friday afternoon) to go complete a drug test… so I was given 3 days during the week since the place isn’t open on weekends. Went online to book an appointment, but the soonest they had was like 3 or 4 weeks out, so I had to walk in, which meant about 30 minutes waiting time. Now waiting to hear that I've officially passed the background. Was told in the initial offer that the job wouldn’t begin until about 4 or 5 weeks from that day…
