I got a call from HR. She scheduled my interview and I asked her to share the JD, but have not received any and I have to find thru their job posting on LinkedIn. When I reached the venue the reception told there is no such interview. Anyways the interview started after some discussions between HRs. I went through 3 technical rounds and got feedback from all 3 panel, one among them even said "You have good technical skills and it will be nice to have me in their team".
Then the last round was conducted with Praveen (VP - Paytm money) and he entered the room. Following questions he asked -
1. What kind of company name is it (my current company) and what they do
2. Where is my parents, about my sisters and personal questions
3. Then he told me my current CTC is high, and that they only deal with cash component and doesn't give damn to any other thing and he went away.
I was shocked with this round seeing the attitude of a VP who is suppose to be humble as compared to my years of past exp. After the interview the HR told me that their budget is not so high but they can match to my fixed component of my current CTC and I was fine with that. Next day I get call that the VP said he can give "X" amount, which is 9 lac less than my current CTC and that the reason is because my interview feedback was "very poor". When I told them the panels feedback given to me personally was great, HR said that they "lied".
The tone of both the VP and HR is very unprofessional and immoral. May be Paytm India should look into this and take strong actions and make sure this doesn't happen with any other candidate
