Contacted by recruiter for the role, had initial conversation and was then set up with team lead. Spoke with hiring manager for 30min initial conversation and then contacted 1-2 days later by department head for interview and spoke with department head for 45min, agreed to move forward.
Contacted by recruiter to talk compensation and logistics, negotiated what was a lowball offer (less than I currently made) and I countered with something a bit higher. Recruiter said they would follow up in 1-2 days.
Completely ghosted and never heard back. Emailed recruiter, hiring manager and department lead each 1-2 times over a several week period and never received a single response. Incredibly rude and unprofessional. After multiple conversations with several people in the firm the least they could do is provide a "thanks but no thanks". Ghosting is completely unprofessional and a terrible thing to do to candidates. There is no valid reason a simple generic email response cannot be provided. Lowball offers, track record of ghosting, and the stock has plummeted - avoid.
