Extremely disappointing interview experience.
The process was highly disorganized and dragged on for months. It took weeks to schedule interviews, and two were canceled just minutes before the call and then pushed out yet again. From start to finish, the process involved seven separate calls.
The salary, OTE, and even equity were discussed early in the process and were clearly defined, but when the offer finally came through, it was meaningfully below what had originally been communicated. Shortly after extending the offer, the company rescinded it because the role had been put on pause.
Overall, it was a frustrating and time-consuming process that showed a lack of coordination and respect for the candidate experience. Based on my experience, I would encourage other candidates to be mindful of the red flags throughout the process.

Entretien le 06/06/25 pour poste d’Account Executive New logo avec une Entreprise Account Executive qui avait à mon sens une connaissance très limitée de l’écosystème des paiements. L’un des principaux partenaires de PayPal, acteur majeur sur le marché avec un effectif de 1000+ personnes (pour lequel j’ai travaillé) lui était totalement inconnu… A sa question concernant ma stratégie de prospection, j’ai cité différents outils de digital marketing que j’utilisais, dont l’un des leaders sur le marché pour l'analyse de trafic web/SEO. Elle en ignorait l’existence… un comble dans un secteur ou l’on est confronté quotidiennement aux problématiques du commerce en ligne. Je ne revendiquerai pas avoir une expertise pointue dans le domaine mais j’étais stupéfaite!
La personne qui m’a fait passer l’entretien n’était pas une pure Sales/Hunter avec une expertise pointue dans le secteur des paiements. Elle avait d'avantage un profil Farmer.
Ce que je déplore dans ce process de recrutement est d’avoir été évaluée et recalée par un profil que je qualifierais de junior dans les Paiements car 2,5 ans chez PayPal reste une expérience limitée dans le secteur, tenant compte du fait que cette solution est bien moins technique/complexe/riche, en comparaison à ses principaux concurrents.
PayPal recherche d'avantage des candidats avec un portefeuille clients grands comptes actif, peu importe que vous ayez une expérience ou pas dans le secteur des Paiements.
Conseils à la direction
Ne donnez pas autant de pouvoir en début de process de recrutement à des personnes chez PayPal France qui manquent de seniorité et de maturité!

Sit in with several managers across the different market segments. Why PayPal? Why sales? They want to know how motivated by your own compensation you are. Typically if you're in a place where you can hyper focus on building your book of business, you will ramp up quickly.
