Interview one was a phone interview, cant remember exactly what was asked but just a few general easy questions im guessing to find out if you have basic phone skills.
Interview two: Interview two was an hour long competency based interview. They mainly talked about my C.V so this will obviously be different for everyone. Was carried out by Payments manager and team lead. My impression was that they were new to the interview process and appeared to be reading the questions from a sheet they probably got online, the appeared very scattered in how they asked, have had interviews with other major firms like GE and Accenture which made these guys look very unprofessional.
Questions were like:
give me a time you had to deal difficult teams remembers?
If a manager and supervisor both give you a pile of work and you physically cant get it done in time how do you prioritize?
Why did you pick the subjects you did for college?
Give me an example of a time you had to work to a deadline?
Interview 2 was about an hour in total just a lot of questions about different situations, most the stuff you will find online.
Stage 2
Was an aptitude test, shl. 2.5 hours at home. Logical, verbal reasoning and numerical. This shl was particularly difficult to read, the maths was tough especially since the tables were made to mislead you, that or they are very poorly designed tables.
Stage 3
Was given an assignment via email on a Thursday, Presentation was for the following Tuesday; The assignment was
"Present a competitor analysis focusing on customer service and how Paddy Power fares when compared to 3 other competitors in the market. The presentation should consist of 4-5 slides and should not last any longer than 20 minutes"
Stage 3 actually consisted of a half hour presentation followed by half an hour of questions by payments manager and team lead
My impression was that they did not take criticism well towards their products, they appeared to get extremely hostile with their questions as soon as I mentioned areas that needed work.
For the presentation I surveyed over 40 people, and in this survey I asked open ended questions so that I could get a full idea of what customers really thought. They said that my survey results should have be presented in graph and more in-depth analysis of the figures, they didnt seem to accept time constraints as a reason for not doing this.
After the interview I had another hour interview with the head of operations and a recruitment executive, this was very laid back just discussed the C.V, head of operations said he cares a lot about leaving cert results. also was given a puzzle to do at the end where i was to imagine that I had a cube which was 10x10 and in that it was made up of smaller cubes 1x1 , the question asked was if i take away one layer what is left. The answer they are looking for is that you place assumptions onto diameter etc and then explain how there are four sides and obviously if you take an outside layer each layer there after will be smaller than the last.
I then received a short email the following day to say that I had not made it through to the next stage, I replied with a polite email asking for some feedback for the future, but nobody replied to my mail.
The reason I gave it a negative experience is because I felt they were unorganized in how the they conducted each process and personally I did thought they could have had the common courtesy to offer at least a phone call instead of an email to let me know or even a reply with a few lines of feedback after the time I gave them.
