Me postulé en línea. Acudí a una entrevista en PUSD (Porterville, CA)

      Entrevista

Director is a joke. You only get 10 minutes. It’s a panel, which makes the interview process even more nerve-wrecking. Three ladies were there. One sat there and didn’t say a word, only observed. The other lady had the most driest attitude I’ve ever seen, and looked like she didn’t want to be there. Asked one question to me and the director asked all the other questions. What’s the point of multiple people in the room, if they hardly aren’t doing anything besides taking up space. The director acts like she is so above everyone, and you’re NOT even notified if you didn’t get the job, not even an email sent to you on her behalf, so don’t expect one; even if you didn’t get the job. You don’t get any feedback, or a good luck in future job applications, and you won’t be told to reapply again and to keep an eye out whenever there are other open positions again. Not everyone has worked with children with special needs, and that is the only experience that they are looking for, considering it wasn’t a job position strictly only for children with special needs. Like 7 or 8 of the interview questions asked about your experience working with children with special needs, like what. Even if you have not had that exposure, it doesn’t mean you can’t take up a new skill and challenge yourself a bit. They’re only looking for people who have had that experience, so be prepared for that in the interview, because that was completely unexpected and a surprise to me. Almost every single question was structured that way in the interview, so if your not too familiar with that then be prepared to not get the job. Whoever wrote the questions for this interview did a horrible job, and if it’s outdated and they have not changed these questions and stuck to the same ones, then it time for PUSD to stop being so lazy and the worst school district by far in this area (the Central Valley). Once I got there even before I even walked into the interview, I didn’t even want the job anymore, just by the way they tend to handle everything based off what I saw and observed the way they interacted with each other. Everything is only about connections and who do you know, regardless if your are a qualified candidate for the job. Shady school district, the absolute worse, and I’m glad I found work, and I am employed somewhere else. So glad this interview did not work out, and I won’t ever be submitting another application here again in the future for the rest of my life, for how toxic PUSD really is, and the bad environment. I want nothing to do with this school district. Bye.

      Preguntas de entrevista [1]

      Pregunta 1

All they cared about was working with children with special needs. Not that I would mind this, and make a big deal about it. But they won’t hire you, if you have not worked with those who have special needs, and are not too familiar with that specific group. I only say this is a big deal and stress the importance, because that is all they will ask you about during the interview. The entire interview is based off of this, so be mindful and aware of this.
