It was similar to the initial call, with another team member asking the same or similar questions. Within two days, I received a job offer starting at $18 per hour, with an agreement to increase the pay after a three-month probation period. I signed the offer letter, and my start date was set. However, it was then delayed and ultimately canceled. The explanation given was that the owner had decided to lay off multiple employees, which caused the delay due to managing those layoffs. I was disappointed, as I had wasted a week preparing for my new role instead of continuing my job search. However, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise, revealing the lack of job security at the company. Interestingly, I noticed the interviewers job was listed on Indeed that same week, confirming if even the interviewer left no job security exist at this company.
