Me postulé a través de una recomendación de un empleado. El proceso tomó 4 días. Acudí a una entrevista en Oscar Health (Tempe, AZ)

      Entrevista

I was sent an email requesting I write how I handled a bad situation with a patient. And how it was resolved. I allowed the patient to vent and explain her issues and let her know that I fully understand her being upset. We talked about it and I helped her through the issue and patient left feeling like she had made progress.

      Entrevista

I was contacted by a recruiter the day after I applied with Oscar. She conducted a quick phone interview that went over my experience a bit, but it was mostly just a lot of scripted information about the company's culture. She scheduled a 1.5 hour interview with two team leads and a quality assurance team member the following week. The company was pretty responsive and transparent until they didn't want to make an offer, then it was impossible to get in touch with anyone. It was clear just from the initial phone interview (and throughout the process) that they want a pretty uniform applicant. They emphasize empathy and the ability to clearly explain things in a step by step process. The in person interview consisted of what one might consider a "typical" job interview, discussing the company and my qualifications. The portion of the interview that I didn't enjoy was the role play portion; how a company can emphasize that they want someone who is intelligent enough to work autonomously and make good decisions, yet clearly want them to fall into what is yet another call center role, is beyond me. The person that conducted the role play portion of the interview seemed to only want one response, and did not take into account the fact that I was not familiar with the company's policies. I left after 1.5 hours, never heard from them by the date that they said I would hear something, and felt pretty okay with that. I got a form email letting me know they would not be making an offer on the Saturday after the interview (ostensibly so that no one would be in the office if I had questions about it). Oscar is a start up now, but I think that eventually it will transform into a more traditional call center role (the pay is great, so if that's the sort of environment you thrive in, you should definitely work there).

Thank you for providing that feedback! As a startup, there are moments where the course of action or lines of responsibility are unclear. To that end, we seek to engage candidates (across all levels) that can both innovate processes and thrive in times of ambiguity. We sincerely apologize that a member of our team had not reached out to you with a hiring decision sooner. We seek to create candidate experiences that are both enjoyable and timely, and this is an area that we need to pay additional attention to. We will pass this note along to the recruiting team for further process improvements moving forward. Thanks, again, and best of luck in your job search!

Me postulé en línea. El proceso tomó 2 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en Oscar Health en mar 2017

      Entrevista

I applied on Indeed and received an email to set a time to do a phone interview. After the phone interview I was invited to take an assessment, which consisted of two video response questions and 1 typing scenario. About a day or so later I received another invite to do a final interview with hiring managers. The final interview was fairly easy, the first part I was asked basic interview questions "Why do you want to be a member services rep?", "Why Oscar?" etc. The second part consisted of two role play scenarios. For the first scenario was explaining to a member that his Specialist was not within the Oscar network and if he received services it would not be covered by his plan. The second scenario I was asked to deescalate an irate member whose claim was not going to paid. The final scenario was another typing scenario which involved responding to member inquires via e-mail. The next morning I received an offer, overall it took about two weeks.
