I applied through the company website (via Jobvite) after coming across the listing in a Glassdoor Alert. I received an email the same day asking to schedule a time for a phone screening with the company recruiter, which was also completed the same day. Following the screening, I completed a telephone interview with the department head, which was a success.
I then scheduled 2.5 hours to meet with 5 different team members in individual 30-minute sessions. The logistics had a few hiccups (Google Hangout technical difficulties, availability due to other urgent matters, etc.), but the rapport with the team was fantastic. I felt the questions were more conversational than intimidating interview questions, and there was a lot of repeat questions. I left the interview giddy with excitement and ready to submit a two-week notice. Later that evening I sent my "thank you" email via the company recruiter.
This is where communication stopped. I, frustratingly, never heard another word from the Opentable team, despite being told I was only one of 3 candidates for the position. After several (appropriately times) followups, I saw through Jobvite that the job position was "closed". A heartbreak to say the least.
Overall, terrific interview process, but TERRIBLE (cannot stress this enough) followup and resolution. Very disappointing.
