The interview screening went well with HR, but they had me interview with a contractor who currently held the role before meeting with the hiring manager. He was extremely unprofessional. He took the call in his car and sounded very distracted, and midway through switched to his PC/video call, he was very direct and not at all courteous. He seemed put off that he was even interviewing me, honestly. Unfortunately the company seemed to put a lot of stock in his opinion and I never so much as received an email letting me know they went a different direction. As someone who hires regularly and has interviewed a fair share, that call was my worst experience yet.
