The first interview is with their DevOps director, it's basically an intro of their company and this job, nothing technical. This process took around 30min.
The second interview is a technical interview with their DevOps consultant, 2 Senior DevOps engineers, and also DevOps director from first-round also joined. This process took 1.5 hours, basically, it's just one of those DevOps engineers who kept on asking technical questions and also there're 2 coding exercises that need to be done. Their DevOps directory didn't ask any technical questions, but he did mention that their management structure is flat.
But strangely, those Senior DevOps engineers seem to refuse to turn on their cameras, so basically I have no idea who I was talking to during the interview.
The coding exercises are also not professional. If the company expects the candidate to code, then they should provide an online coding environment rather than asking the candidate to share his own IDE and screen, or at least, before the interview, the company should make clear what's needed during the interview. Just think what if the candidate use a laptop that has no development IDE installed, this coding challenge will not be possible.
Most of the questions are easy, from the questions they asked, it looks like their system is pretty old and the troubleshooting process is way outdated. Just be aware if you're managing microservices infrastructure in your current role.
