This was a phone interview with an HR person, and it was incredibly awkward. The interviewer was of very low quality and seemed to ask questions which all pertained to focus groups, as if that were the only measure of customer insights. We had a couple of mis-steps during the interview, which makes me wonder if the person could hear me or simply did not understand my answers. Like others, I had the same experience where they never even had the decency to contact me to let me know they'd moved on to other candidates. This is complete inexcusable in a professional environment. My thinking is... I spent my time. You spent your time. Be decent and courteous to let me down easy. If this is how they treat you during the dating phase, what does that mean when you finally get married? In my opinion, I'd stay away from a company that treats candidates so poorly.
