I applied online and was contacted about a week later for a phone interview. The phone interview was about 10 minutes long and consisted of questions about my past sales and customer service experience as well as why I wanted to work for Nordstrom. At the end of the interview she told me I would be receiving a call from the hiring manager to schedule a second interview.
The hiring manager called me 10 minutes later to set up an interview for two days later in store. This interview was similar in asking about overall customer service skills as well as how motivated I would be as a seller. I was also given a selling scenario on the floor which was a lot of fun

Some of the specific questions were; Name a time you dealt with a very demanding customer and how did you handle it? Name a time you had a competition at work, what was it and what was the outcome?

So easy, I went to a job fair and was hired on the spot. They need people in the kids department, that's the easiest section to get into. They just ask about your personality and who you are.
Was inside Barton creek mall, hiring manager was prompt and clear with questions ranging from how I would handle difficult customers, to my personal experiences that could apply to the job.
