I applied through Indeed. A few days later, I received an email invitation to complete their Interactive Application that consisted of answering four coaching scenarios within 25 minutes. The last step of this application was to upload a 1 minute video of myself explaining why I would be a good fit as a health coach. A little over a week later, I received another email to schedule an interview with (presumably) one of their health coaches. The first part of it consisted of a 10-minute "getting to know you" video chat session through the Zoom app, and the second part was an hour-long mock coaching session through a Google doc. It wasn't really a "getting to know you" at all because my interviewer only asked one question and then asked me if I had any questions about the mock procedure about to take place. There didn't seem to be any room to ask about the actual job position so I assumed all of that would come after. My experience role-playing as a coach is similar to the experience other reviewers have written about here. The user was difficult to work with and wanted to lose weight without doing anything-- no diet changes and absolutely no exercise. Once the time limit was reached, the interviewer ended the session abruptly and closed the Google doc. with a final message that I would hear back from the talent team in a couple of days. Still, no chance to ask any questions. I felt pretty awkward during the mock session because they could see us typing in real-time. This made me feel like I had little room to revise or think through my responses. They're looking for speedy replies as well which added some pressure on me, because sometimes they wouldn't know that I wasn't done typing yet before they started writing their own reply. Doing this through a Google doc really isn't the best idea in my opinion; it just felt so clunky and unprofessional. Also, I was expected to lead the conversation while the user would only give simple replies and nothing to branch my responses off of. I don't have any prior experiences as a health coach so I was a little messy with my style. I think the worst part about all of this is, based on other reviews, there is one last step to be completed if we pass the mock session: a real, 30 minute interview (finally). The whole process from start to finish just seemed unnecessarily long, and you can get rejected after any point. Noom doesn't seem very flexible with coaching styles and different user-interaction approaches, which is probably where I went wrong (not that I would know for sure though since they don't provide any feedback). I thought my qualifications and willingness to learn would at least be positives in this "entry level" position (I'm a fresh-grad looking for experience), but they seem to want someone who already comes equipped with exactly what they're looking for without any hints or guidance.
