In my experience, the process spanned several weeks with repeated delays attributed to internal "calibration", CFO approvals, and HR staff absences. Throughout, I was given assurances that the role was Lead AI Engineer. All interviews, technical assessments and assignments were scoped explicitly to that level. After the final interview stage, a verbal offer was made for Lead AI Engineer and subsequently retracted weeks later at the very last minute. The role appeared to be downgraded to Senior AI Engineer with no meaningful explanation. This was a title I had made clear from my very first conversation that I was not interested in, which the team acknowledged. In my opinion this felt like a classic bait and switch. My experience was of a stream of delays, with significant effort required from me as a candidate before key terms shifted at the offer stage. If you are considering a role here, I would strongly recommend getting every commitment in writing from the start and not relying on verbal assurances.
