I applied online. Was contacted 2 days later. Over the course of 4 long months they slowly phone interviewed me and finally brought me up to NY. At each step I was told that I would be moving to the next round of interviews in the next week only to be ghosted for 3 weeks until I again contacted them about the next steps. It was highly disorganized. The interviews went well with the exception of an extremely unprofessional final person who yelled and cursed in the interview. I was asked "Who are your favorite writers at the Times?" I didn't finish the answer. As soon as I started the qualifier of, "Well, I'm no journalist but..." the interviewer screamed that it wasn't an acceptable answer mixed with some very heavy profanity. He was extremely rude, and standoffish after that. He was also thrown in as a last second addon to the agenda. This man should be barred from the interview process. The rest of the interviewers were great, if somewhat confused as to the nature of the position.
