Me postulé en línea. El proceso tomó 6 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en New Century Software

      Entrevista

It was weird, but average. I applied online, and someone from HR called me out of the blue and gave me basically an impromptu phone screen. These were pretty standard questions "why do you want a job here, can you talk about your background, etc..." After this, I had a 30 minute phone screen with the VP. These were pretty standard questions, with a lot of the questions being around work prioritization and how you deal with demands of both a project and a program company. Had a good interview here, and was invited in for an on site interview. The onsite interview was divided into three sections: 1) 45 minutes with the VP & CEO. This went ok, with the general questions you'd expect of a Software Engineering Manager. More questions about how you'd "fix" underperforming employees than normal, so perhaps that's more of an issue. 2) 1 hour with members of the development team. This included a couple of other managers, the person acting as PO, and a couple members of the development team. This was a pretty good discussion about me, my history, and how I would address some of the issues they have. I got a good insight into their development team, processes, some of their challenges and opportunities. Overall, I enjoyed it. 3) 45 minutes with 2 folks from HR. This was a more relaxed discussion. Nice people. So why did I rate this as a negative experience? I interviewed on a Monday. I was told that they still had a couple of people to interview, but I'd hear back from them the following week. I didn't. So the week after (2 weeks after my interview), I sent a note just to see where they were in the process. No Response. A week after that (3 weeks after my interview), I sent another. No Response. By this point I realized they'd moved on, but the following week, I figured I might as well email them. This was now 4 weeks after my interview. That day, I got not one, but TWO form letters telling me thanks, but they'd gone with someone else. I understand people are busy. But, if a candidate has come into your office to interview, you should call them and let them know the result. At very least email. Having no further contact is very unprofessional behavior.
