I was contacted by the hiring manager and had a great conversation. She set up a second round interview with their sourcer. The sourcer confirmed I would be moving on to the next round and described in detail what to prepare for. Hours later sent me a message telling me I wasn't a good fit. If you didn't think I was a good fit, don't lie to candidates about it. Every recruiter knows how to create a good candidate experience even with people that they feel aren't a good fit. This was one of the WORST experiences I have ever had. Should have known better from an Musk owned company.
