After a preliminary phone call with a recruiter, I scheduled an interview at the Vermont office. They were aware that I had to travel 3+ hours to get to the interview, and had told me ahead of time who I would be meeting with. When I arrived I was told that the woman who was supposed to meet with me could not come in, so I would be skyping with the person in her position at the Texas office. This was frustrating considering I had driven 3 hours to come into the office just for a skype interview that could have happened anywhere. Unfortunately, this was made worse by the fact that the man I skyped with did not really know what the role I was applying for was. I asked him a question about the day to day responsibilities of the role and his response was "to be honest, I don't really know much about this position". Needless to say, the interview was not successful. The recruiter reached out to me again and asked if I was interested in a different internship that she thought would be a good fit for me, and she set me up on another skype interview. It was a total embarrassment, as the position was something I was entirely unqualified for and had to completely butcher the answers to his questions about finance.
