One must be a W-2 through O-6 or E-6 through E-9 and retired from the Navy, Marine Corps or Coast Guard. Next, obtain certification, which includes a height/weight assessment, a 4"x5" 3/4 view full length photo, and an interview with an Area manager closest to your location. Please note that packages must be submitted NLT 07 Sep 2012 for the 22 Oct 2012 board. Once you have obtained certification you are ready to go to the NJROTC website and search "Vacancies." Once you have found a position you are interested in, apply to that high school. The school will set up an interview, which will usually have the principal, assistant principal and the current NJROTC instructor present.
