Three stages: Application with three essay questions (one short, two long response), timed video interview, panel interview. Application was fun with creative essay prompts. Video interview feels strange, but writing down your go-to “traditional” interview responses (work experience, handling work-related dilemmas, why NBC, etc.) is a huge help in coming up with strong responses on the fly. Being thorough but concise in your responses is good too – not using the full 1-2mins to respond is ok. Panel was truly a pleasant experience! We were asked 2-3 questions in front of the full panel group with 30-60 secs to think about responses (mostly behavioral, so prepared notes on your work experiences is helpful!). In smaller groups, we were asked one more personal question to discuss amongst ourselves then given a simple, fun group activity. The final stage of panel is a 1:1 and is more traditional interview. Again, having prepared notes to mentally pull from is a huge help. Concise, detailed, confident responses are good. Know your experience and what you personally want out of the program. They want pages with diverse skill sets, so don’t be afraid to flaunt what you can bring to NBC!
