I applied through the careers section of Mozilla's own website. One month of total silence. I had no idea if anything was happening at their end. Then suddenly I received an anonymous form email demanding that I do a skill test. The email did not mention my name. It did not even say "Dear applicant". It was completely de-contextualized. No human aspect to it whatsoever. No acknowledgement that I possess any skills or individuality. I did the skill test late in the evening, believing optimistically that I had nothing to lose. I was completely wrong to have any optimism. Obviously the skill test expected me to answer all three programming questions fully and flawlessly in the shortest amount of time possible. I aced 2 out of 3 questions and got stuck in the mud with the third question. Within less than 12 hours, I received an anonymous instant rejection email with no explanation. Grossly unprofessional. I did not even get the chance to speak to a human being by phone.
