Me postulé a través de un reclutador. Acudí a una entrevista en Motive (Nashville, TN) en jul 2020

      Entrevista

This was a lengthy process (5+ calls), with a mish mash of different individuals across varying teams. Screening call with a recruiter, meeting with a sales manager, one more meeting and then a final presentation followed by 2 30 minute interviews. The recruiter was very organized, but the structure of the interview process seems convoluted. The employees themselves were all over the place - some were irrelevant to my role - and made it pretty clear they did not want to be involved in the process. A powerpoint presentation was required in the final step of interview to pitch or sell my current product to their team. A powerpoint was required, which was awful as I sell very complex software, which people would not understand unless they are in my industry. Also, No one uses powerpoints to sell. It was supposed to have already been included in the meeting, but it wasn't, therefore I had to share my screen and present off the cuff, rather than reference my well prepared tidbits to follow along. There seemed to be a disconnect amongst the 3 employees on my final interview as well. The one person didn't even say a single word. I think the feedback could have been better. I wasn't given the position because I did not have enough experience "demoing" a product. That is something easily taught, so I am not sure what the real reason was. While I was disappointed I did not get the position, I later learned that they had let go of 90% of their sales team pre/during COVID, which is why they were looking to re-build with a clean slate. Seems like there is more to the story.
