Me postulé a través de un reclutador. El proceso tomó 4 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en Moody's en may 2022

      Entrevista

I received an email requesting a recruiter screen, where I responded with my availability and phone number. They wanted to clarify the time zone for the call, but instead of simply emailing and waiting for a response, they called me during a time where I explicitly said I was unavailable to talk. Then the recruiter oddly called back the next day to check in and make small talk, even though I had already responded to his email, and I confirmed, again, that I would be able to interview the next day. After we talked, the recruiter emailed to ask who all I was interviewing with, and after I responded, they promptly wanted to schedule the next interview. Instead of the standard hiring manager or design team interview, it was a half-day virtual on-site. I asked the recruiter multiple times about what this on-site would include, and each time I was told it would be behavioral questions and questions about my skill set. Instead, it ended up being three portfolio presentations, which I was not prepared for. If I hadn't interviewed for another company recently, I wouldn't have had anything to show other than my portfolio website, so I was extremely frustrated. When I went to start my first interview, no one was joining. I realized about three minutes into the start of the call that I was given the wrong Zoom link, so I had to click around to different parts of the email to find one that worked. For the second interview, none of the zoom links in the email worked, and after frantically calling and texting the recruiter and HR, then giving up and guessing the emails for all the people I was interviewing with for that call, I got one of the team members to start their own Zoom call. I lost almost 10 minutes of presentation/interview time for my second call due to this error. After thanking my first lead interviewer and trying to confirm what the other interviews would include since my recruiter was not informative, they told me to present more "complex" projects (after I presented a complete product overhaul where I was a lead contributor), which came off a little condescending and like they had not listened at all after an hour of an impromptu presentation. Also, I'm not sure how I was supposed to add an entirely new case study for my presentation within that same day. The second and third interview team was much more personable, but as expected I didn't get much initial feedback about the presentation or what they thought of the projects. After using a half day of my time to present, I was ghosted for two full weeks without any indication of when they might follow up. Many large companies have long interview loops, but they make a point to explain this in advance. I knew at this time I would not accept even if offered, because this is not how a company should respect a candidate's time. It takes less than a minute to shoot off a generic decline email. I had to reach out to get them to finally tell me up front they went another direction, where I got a one-line text. The recruiter was probably the most personable of the bunch, which wasn't saying much since they left me completely blindsided after I made the effort to clarify the aspects of the on-site. It seems like it would have taken a quick email to even one of the eight interviewers to learn that a presentation would be needed. I appreciate not going through a bunch of rounds, but wasting a half day and not even getting a response until prompted is a really poor way to respond to a candidate taking the time to interview with a company. If you want a company to treat you respectfully throughout the process, this is not it. This was a misstep throughout every point in the process and I read Moody's as a very disorganized company.
