I was initially not interested, but Mood Media pursued me with a lucrative offer. The interview process felt strange; while the manager seemed knowledgeable, the atmosphere was tense and awkward. After accepting the job, there was complete radio silence, leaving me uneasy about quitting my previous role. I later received a call from the hiring manager, upset that I updated my LinkedIn, which exposed that I was replacing someone who had not yet been informed. She ended up training me during an awkward week of overlap.
The team wasn't aware of the situation either, which created a hostile work environment from day one. To make things worse, the manager who hired me was fired two months later, after putting me on a performance plan – something I had never encountered in my career.
Additionally, the PTO promised during my interview was exaggerated, and I ended up with significantly less than I was told. Overall, the entire experience was disorganized and disheartening.
