      Entrevista

Multi-step process: submit resume/application online, 2. phone interview with recruiter, 3. personality and cognitive assessment, 4. didn't get this far (didn't pass the timed cognitive test) The cognitive test is 50 questions with a 15 minute time limit. Don't get stuck on one problem; move on. As the interviewer said, "It's a sprint, not a marathon." Guess if you don't know; there's no penalty for wrong answers.

      Entrevista

I was contacted by a recruiter via email to schedule a phone screener. The questions for the screener weren’t too difficult and I made it to the next round. The next round was a personality test and some sort of cognitive test. The personality test was a standard one that most companies use to see if you’re a good fit. I was confused about the cognitive exam. Basically, it was nothing but brain puzzles. I asked about the purpose of the cognitive test but did not receive a straight forward reply. It was something along the lines of being a screener and to see if I could do the job properly. How do brain puzzles determine whether someone can do a job properly? I researched the test and it’s connected to some iOS app for brain puzzles and the website claims the test can help find good candidates for a position and claimed that there was research to prove it. I found no such research at all. I did not get enough points on the cognitive test for them to consider me for the in-person interview. I do question the company using this approach. I have never heard of any company or agency using this type of method even in high-tech and Fortune 500 companies. And judging from other reviews from current and former employees, it looks like Mitratech doesn’t hire well. Maybe the test needs to be cut (after all this is about test taking skills rather than actually performing the job) and focus on what most employers focus on such as experience, ability to perform the job, etc. I was also informed that if I was hired I would be paid less than what I make now. For a company to require such ridiculous things to get the job, you would think the pay would be decent.
