      I wait until the time for interview passed, then sent recruiter an email, got the reply "Oh sorry, I . have something important to do. Can we make it another time?" Another week, 10 minutes passed, sent recruiter an email, "Oh sorry, we have No conference room now. Can we make it another time?" Well, I think they mean that "You are not important for us, you are just nothing, I don't care what you think, and I don't care about your time."

      Entrevista

      Great initial interview that quickly took a swift turn. The interview was great (standard questions about what I was looking for / my experience). However, they then sent me a Full Stack hackerrank interview. I worked on it (a lot), like literally 10+ hours of work. It even passed the test cases, compiled, etc. Once I submitted it, they sent me a rejection with no discussion of my code that RAN. Don’t waste your time putting in the work; they pretty much ghost you even if you design time-efficient code that passes tests. Super disrespectful of my time. I could’ve used it to take exams for companies who care to give feedback at the least.

      The recruiter was very friendly and helpful. The process was going fine until one of the members of the all-male engineering team made what I considered to be a bit of a sexist comment to me. I brought it up with his supervisor, who basically gaslighted me and tried to make me think that I was just being dramatic or overly sensitive. He also said that his team wasn't doing anything in particular to foster diversity or hire a diverse candidate. It seems like they like to pat themselves on the back for having a female CEO and lots of female employees throughout the company, but aren't actively trying to foster that same diversity within Engineering. To top it all off: They ghosted me for a few weeks after my interview without telling me whether or not I got the position. I only got a response after I reached out to them.

Our VP of Engineering wanted to share the following response and invitation to have a follow-up conversation: Hello, I am so sorry to hear about your negative interview experience with us. Despite our limited resources, we take inclusion and a supportive work environment seriously. While forever a work in progress, we’re proud of the gender balance in our employee base, and that includes the engineering teams at Minted. We’ve done extensive interview training within the engineering organization this year, as well as unconscious bias training for all employees. If at all possible, I’d like to be able to thoroughly investigate your claims internally and take appropriate actions. Please reach out to me via HR@minted.com so we can continue to improve our processes. With regard to our communication turnaround time post interview, I agree that we can do better there. While we try hard to make sure our interview process is timely, we are often evaluating multiple candidates concurrently. Between everyone’s busy schedules and different initial contact dates, the decision timeline can be stretched out. But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be proactive and keep candidates looped in on our progress, and we’ll make sure to do better going forward.
