My interview process began positively, but scheduling and communication quickly became very, very challenging. It took nearly two weeks to confirm my initial interview date, and on the morning of that interview, just five minutes before it was set to begin, I was asked to reschedule for unclear reasons. Ultimately, it took about another month before my first interview actually occurred (so a month and a half in all of just waiting). Over the course of three interviews, communication remained inconsistent and delayed, and the overall process felt disorganized. In my final interview, I was asked about my location, and only then was it mentioned that they typically do not hire candidates from outside the Church. After that, I never received any follow-up after they told me I would be hearing back within three business days. I felt this policy could have been communicated much earlier to save both parties 3 months worth of time. While I respect their right to set internal guidelines, the lack of transparency and professionalism was disappointing, especially since my husband and I were actively planning to move to the area and find a new home church.
