Our intention with our interview process is not to be impersonal or to have our candidates feel they do not have contact they can reach out to. Many candidates find this initial step to be convenient. Our questions on the video interview are designed to help us get to know our candidates better. We feel like asking guided questions such as "How did you like high school?" helps candidates with a speaking point better than just broadly asking "Tell us about yourself." Many candidates choose to use that opportunity to just tell us a little about their background and what got them started with a career in technology.
