I applied and was contacted to set up an interview. Very straight forward interview; they asked me some questions to get a better understanding of who I was. I asked them some questions to get a better understanding of what the organization was seeking. This particular position was based in Sioux Falls, SD. I explained in great detail why I wanted to be there and why this position would be interesting to me. The interviewer explained she was originally from Sioux Falls, and had a lot of experience there. I felt it would have been a good match, both for myself and for them. I was told I would be contacted by elements on the ground in Sioux Falls for the next steps in the interview process.
2 weeks passed, I heard nothing.
I contacted the interviewer directly to check in and express my continued interest in the position. They responded and said to wait for leadership in Sioux Falls to contact me regarding the next steps in the interview process.
This happened twice, with 2 weeks in between each contact. It's now been over 2 months and I still haven't received word from the Sioux Falls office.
There are only 2 logical conclusions:
1: It's old fashioned incompetence and they have no idea what they are doing or how to evaluate talent.
2: they are dishonest and will string someone along for months before sending a simple rejection letter letting them know they are not interested/going a different direction.
Note to Management: "Ghosting" is never cool. This is unacceptable in every way imaginable. You cannot treat qualified candidates like this and expect to stay in business in this current climate. The world is rapidly changing, and job seekers today will not put up with this. Good luck, it appears you'll need it!
Note to job seekers: Don't bother with with these people; if you are reading this review, unfortunately my honest advice is run not walk away from Midwest Alarm.
