Metrie responded quickly to my application and notified me that I was chosen for a first-round interview. This turned out to be 3 questions via the application Willo in which you record yourself answering the questions. After I submitted this, I never heard from the company again. There are oh so many reasons that this whole experience does not sit well with me. 1. I understand that companies get hundreds of applicants and have to filter them out quickly, but asking for a video of the candidate on the first round sure does make it easy to filter people out by what they look like and not just their vocal presentation. 2. I already didn't feel comfortable submitting a video of myself before speaking with a human, but the fact that I never heard from them again makes me feel even more uncomfortable that they now have my voice and likeness in their files. In the new world of AI and personal data mining, deep fakes, etc I'm not happy about this situation. 3. The company couldn't send any follow-up after an "interview"? Really? 4. The Willo platform gave 15 minutes to submit each question and 3 tries at the video. While I appreciate the opportunity to have mutliple chances to record, by the time I recorded, the video buffered and then I reviewed my video for each chance, I was already nearly over the 15 minutes....without accounting for time spent trying to form my answer.
