I got a reply to my application just a few days after applying. I then had a one on one video conference call with a lovely HR human in which we discussed my background and was told more about the company. I was then sent a Design test and was given 2-3 weeks to complete it (allocating about 8-10 to the task). Although I was applying for a director level position the test seemed like a reasonable and understandable request. My understanding is that the same test is given to all designers applying to MetaLab. I completed the test within a week and scheduled a call with the other Design Directors (my would-be peers) to present my test and speak more about my experience. Those humans were also lovely people. We spoke over a video call as well, being that this is a remote position.
