A recruiter contacted me regarding a generic job description position. When asked what position she asked me to interview for she mentioned there were numerous various positions within the org. The JD requirement states "systems engineering, hardware engineering, or technical product/program management experience." which I qualify so I took the leap of faith and went through the first round.
After passing the first round and I asked the second recruiter again what position am I considered for and the answer was SW TPM. My recent experience is more on the hardware side and the way the interview process is FB will place a candidate wherever they have the need.
If your background is system or hardware, I do NOT recommend wasting your time with the Infrastructure organization. I believe I was selected just to fill the hiring quota to be able to give someone else an offer.
