I was contacted by a recruiter who went over my background and gave me an overview of the team. I was passed on to a member of the team which the position was based for a phone interview. After the phone interview I was asked to a 4-part in-person interview in Menlo Park.
I had a bit higher expectations from the interviews: The interviews felt very one sided and did not seem conversational, or stimulating, or interactive at all - which is not what I expected from a company like Facebook. I noticed a lack of diversity from my interviewers (and future potential team)...all similar educational background, same universities, similar job experiences, companies, etc. My takeaway on this was that maybe there were certain answers and expected responses in the interview rather than talking about my experiences and how they relate to the role - which is more what I was prepared for.
Ultimately I was unsuccessful and received no offer, so my review may not really be relevant to you. Diversity is pretty important to me in my work - backgrounds, experience, etc. I'd like to think my interview experience was a bit of a fluke, and hopefully uncommon, but it has really made me rethink my desire to work at Facebook.
