I had 2 interview-calls with recruiting prior to a call with the Hiring Manager, then an onsite with 3 interviews, and then a 3rd interview (call) with a VP. Many calls with the recruiter in between. From the hiring team side the process was good, unfortunately, can't say the same from the recruiting team side. Here's what happened: The recruiter that was "teaming up" with me called me after the on-site to tell me that I only had one extra interview left that was "a formality" and said they wanted to make an offer and we should start working on that, she asked me to think what I wanted and call her back. After that, she did not pick up my calls again or reply my emails until she sent me an email to book the last call. I asked for that meeting to be in person and she refused (the interviewer then asked me why weren't we meeting in person as I was local). It ended up not being a "formality" but a pretty technical interview for which I wasn't prepared for and needless to say, I blew it. I had the worst experience with someone raising my expectations and making me lose another opportunity (she knew I was interviewing with other companies but what would you do if a recruiter from your ideal job at Facebook tells you "It's a done deal"? I imagined no one is going to say that without being 100% confirmed?). My mistake was trusting her and not being 200% prepared for the last call, I know that’s on me. But the deception of hearing that the offer was going to happen, start thinking of what I wanted and then getting a “NO”, that's on her and that's something that shouldn't happen on companies like Facebook. Very very disappointing.
