I had a quick phone interview, then was called in for an in person interview. Once I arrived, I didn't wait long, but I could tell I wasn't what the interviewer was expecting (I have a Caucasian name and I speak in an "educated" manner, but I'm AfroLatina, so I'm black). I was sitting there dressed in business attire, as well as being the only one waiting. The interviewer kept looking around, as if someone else was going to appear. Once she realized no one else was coming, she looked at me and called my name with uncertainty. When I answered she looked surprised. As the interview went on, it was clear she didn't actually expect what was on my resume to match who was sitting in front of her. It put me off for the rest of the interview.
