Preferred and had experience in, I said plumbing and electrical so she decided that hardware department would be the best fit, informed me the job was part time,,I explained I had alot of experience in the field and asked for $12 hr starting, she said she would check my former employers and if it was kosher then no problem( they never did, claiming they could not reach them) but until then started at $8.36 hr no benefits and I could start anytime I wanted and that there would be basic training.

The interview process for Menards was very simple and straightforward. Human Resources representative was knowledgeable and I interviewed with the department manager of the department that I was interviewing for.
Very easy, simple questions that they ask. Usually with the general manager and maybe with the department head. Pretty quick to getting back for the interview process and offering the position.
The interview was in person and lasted about 45 minutes. A GM will sit in on the interview with you and ask additional questions (usually more in depth, especially if there is an area of concern in your application or answers). There are about two pages of questions but most are pretty standard.

They will first ask the standard tell me about yourself but their main and biggest question was "What do you offer that stands out more than our other applicants for this position. What can you offer us that others cant?"
