Respect is a two-way street. Candidates invest so much time & effort and even finances into preparing for interviews. Has common courtesy become extinct? Once a candidate gives of their time to be interviewed. They deserve feedback. No Excuses! Stop leaving candidates hanging. Grant them closure.

This is definitely a small company by the way the interview process went. One thing I noticed right off the bat in the interview was that the owners and HR clearly did not communicate and have a mutual understanding on job duties, salary and responsibilities. I applied one day and I was asked to interview the next day, which I was unable to attend. I was able to schedule an interview and then that time was changed again to another appointment later in the day. I got to the interview and signed in. There was no one at the front desk, so I went and waited and once I did that, the front office person said the interviewers were running late. I waited about 10 minutes and they called me into the conference room and told me they'd be right in as they had to print out my resume. I then waited almost 20 minutes in the conference room for them to print out my resume. Once the interview started, they went over the job, what clothes to wear, etc. I can honestly say, this was one of the weirdest and most unprofessional interviews I've ever had. They are the owners of the company but seemed to know little to nothing about their technology used to keep the business running. When I spoke with HR during the initial interview, she told me that what I stated I was looking for in terms of salary was within their range. I also asked if budgeting would be included in this role and she said it would not, which I found odd if this person was supposed to be the one person for all IT needs. Now, during the interview, they had me basically read off my resume (because it seems like they didn't even review it prior) and why I was there to interview. They told me it was an all encompassing position. I asked if this person was supposed to be in charge of budgeting and forecasting and they looked at me and said yes which was a direct conflict of what HR told me. They then asked me point blank how much I was looking for in terms of salary, which I found odd, since that's not normally a question asked in a technical/managerial interview and HR should handle that with them in the background. I told him what I told the HR person and he said, well that's roughly 15k over what the range is for this position. And he asked if I'd be ok with the lower range. I said ok, but at that time, I knew this was not the place I'd want to work considering there was an apparent lack of communication between these two and HR. That shows me that the whole company communication level isn't mature and that might be a challenge that I didn't want to deal with. They then asked me if I knew what a certain healthcare related protocol was and I told them I did. They then said that it was surprising how many IT directors don't know that in a derogatory tone. Well, I know a lot might not know that if they don't specifically work in healthcare because they simply don't need to use anything related to it. So, I wouldn't be surprised actually. The rest of the interview was short and the whole thing lasted 20 minutes. They acted pretty confident they knew what they wanted. With the salary expectations that they listed for the range and the depth of knowledge they wanted the IT manager to have to do budgeting and forecasting, that just didn't align. It seems like they did not do any homework as far as experience needed and salaries to go with those experiences. Honestly, their best bet is to hire a managed services company to do what they need now for cheaper than an employee as it seemed like they were hinting at a lot of downtime. If they wanted someone to help the company grow, there shouldn't be downtime. I just felt the experience was odd. They said that they wanted to hire within that week. I NEVER heard back from HR or anyone stating one way or another, which I felt is extremely rude. At least send an automated message. It's been well over a month now. Assuming I didn't get considered mostly because I stated my salary requirements above what they wanted. I saw other interview reviews stating that the owners were unprofessional and I will be one to second that.

Hello, Thank you for your response to our interview process. We want to ensure that we make changes to processes if they do not align with the majority of our candidate's needs. Due to the high volume of candidates that we received for this position, it took us longer than normal to respond and conduct phone screens. Since this is a high level position, it was important for candidates to meet with our CEO and President. We value everyone's time and due to unexpected events that can occur throughout the day, delays can happen. We get back with all of our candidates and discuss during the phone screen that automated responses can get lost in Spam. We appreciate your interest in this position.
