The process was (seemingly) unnecessarily long. It took a week and a half to hear back post reference checks, then they extended the start date by 9 weeks from what the ad said and what they said at the interview. Really not sure what need there is to extend by that long. I did get an offer in the end, but the talent acquisition person I've been dealing with doesn't seem very skilled, but im giving benefit of the doubt.

I would avoid interviewing with Mecca. There are bad vibes as soon as you walk through the door.
You’ll be asked to do a group interview with some really sweet candidates, a written task and then a one-on-one interview.
Meeting the candidates was the best part of the interview. Interviewing with the Mecca staff however, was not.
I had a ‘talent acquisition’ member speak to me in my one-on-one and I feel like she was disinterested, did not want to listen to me (had a real ‘mean girl’ feel about her) and basically threw me out the door without confirming that I had no other questions or that we had finished up. I could not believe what had happened. The ‘chat’ we had was over before it had even started. She was extremely unprofessional and her behaviour would not be tolerated at any other place besides Mecca.
The feedback they provided afterwards was also not relevant to my situation (use of emojis…. Where? I did not use one single emoji in the written task) which just goes to show how little attention or care they pay.
Wages are atrociously low (remember your worth, guys and gals!) and the rostered hours that they want you to do are suitable only for someone who is a sucker or is willing to be a corporate slave to Mecca.
Best of luck if you want to work here! I like to think I have dodged a bullet and I hope you do too!

Round 1: Hirevue interview Very fun and easy, unique questions. Included both video-style questions and written response questions to see how you would respond to emails. Round 2: Zoom Interview with 2 people. One person was from Talent Acquisition and the other was part of the Customer Care team I believe. They seemed to play 'good cop, bad cop.' 'Good cop' was extremely kind but appeared withdrawn/inattentive, asked generic interview questions 'Bad cop' kept reiterating how difficult and hard the job was no matter how much I confidently responded they seemed to hold prejudice against me or believe I was inadequate for the role. Overall I was disappointed at this approach because MECCA typically advertises itself as a positive upbeat company, but this interview felt the opposite.
