Got a text from an internal recruiter and had a phone interview the same afternoon. It was quite informal and then I was told that I would be informed the following week whether they would proceed or not. Did not hear anything during the specified timeframe so I followed up the recruiter directly with a very polite message and never heard anything back. Ghosting candidates is pretty despicable behaviour, please do better. It really doesn’t take much effort to send a polite reply advising candidates that they have been unsuccessful. The recruiter also wasn’t able to tell me which team this role would sit in either, or the salary band. I don’t know if this was tactical on Mecca’s part, or the recruiter was simply incompetent.
