I interviewed with the faculty member and the recruiter through skype. The interview process lasted about 30 minutes. At the end of the interview, I was told that I must follow the online application process.

Initial phone call with PI, and maybe a follow up with a few students. The overall process was generally to understand project fit and interest, as well as technical capability.
