I was very enthusiastic about this role because the responsibilities aligned closely with my background and experience. My first interview was with HR and it went very well — the conversation was structured around the job description, and we also discussed salary expectations. A few weeks later, I had a second interview with the hiring manager. This discussion focused more on technical aspects of my experience, my publications, and the specific challenges the team is addressing at MGB. That conversation also went well. After another few weeks, I received an update stating that the decision was difficult but they chose to move forward with another candidate. While I appreciated the communication, it was disappointing to see the position remain posted for quite a while afterward. Overall, the interactions were positive, but the extended timeline and unclear outcome made the experience discouraging.
