      Entrevista

My experience interviewing for a Technical Account Manager role at ManageEngine was unfortunately quite disappointing. I initially applied for the role and was contacted by a recruiter nearly two months later, which set the tone for the rest of the process. The initial phone screening was abruptly cut short when their proprietary video call software crashed, leaving me to email the recruiter with my remaining questions—a less than ideal start. Despite this, I was moved to the second stage of the process, where I was interviewed by a current team member. This interview lacked structure and felt more like a vague overview of the role rather than a thorough screening. I was simply asked if I was still interested in the position without much clarity on the job's expectations. The most concerning part of the process was the requirement to conduct a one-hour demo of a ManageEngine product, which I had to choose and prepare for on my own. The instructions were vague at best, and despite multiple follow-up questions on my part, the guidance provided was minimal. I was left to navigate a complex product suite with little support, relying on subpar YouTube demos that exceeded an hour in length. The actual demo was where the process truly fell apart. I was told that the demo would be one hour long with a Q&A session at the end. However, it turned out to be one hour total, including the Q&A, which meant I had to rush through the presentation. To make matters worse, the hiring manager had a heavy accent, making communication challenging, and the proprietary video chat software they used was unreliable and of poor quality. At the last minute, I was informed that I would be interrupted throughout the demo with questions—a significant deviation from the original plan. I was indeed interrupted multiple times with specific questions about their software, which disrupted the flow of my presentation. Adding insult to injury, the hiring manager assured me that they would provide feedback after the demo. Yet, after receiving a rejection letter, I was informed that it's not in their policy to give feedback—a stark contrast to what was communicated during the process. In summary, the interview process was disorganized, lacked transparency, and left me feeling unprepared and unsupported. I expected a more streamlined and professional experience from a company of ManageEngine's stature, but unfortunately, this was not the case.
