Me postulé en persona. El proceso tomó 3 días. Acudí a una entrevista en Magicsoft Asia Systems (Singapur) en jul 2016

      Entrevista

Note: This interview happened some years ago from the time of writing (October 2020). The boss arranged for an interview at 6pm. He came late, at least 10-15 minutes after the stated time. The boss was not in office when I reached, and the staff in the office initially advised me to come back another day, which luckily I did not. The boss talked loudly, which was a turn off for me. He looked at me and the resume I submitted and immediately decided I was already suited for the job. Boss proceeds to tell me his ideas and aspirations, how it's great to be his own boss etc. Also told me something along the lines of me not being able to do programming if he gave me a technical challenge. Then talked about my requested salary, and compared me with another applicant from a public university (I was from a private uni) asking for around $300 more and said something like "How can you ask for so much when you do not have experience?". Then the boss tells me he thinks I am suited for travelling regionally, specifically to Malaysia, to provide software support. He also assumed that I would be more hardworking than the public uni applicant. There were other smaller details which I have forgotten, but in summary, the boss liked me at first look without finding out if I will be a good fit for the company. I am certain I was offered the job on the spot because he kept asking for my desired salary, but I mentioned I wanted to think about it. I told the boss that I thought he had an interesting personality as I left. Day after the interview, I received an offer via email: $500 less than what I asked for, a sales role (I wanted something technical) with commission, 1 month probation after which salary is increased by $200. I declined. There is a reason why standard interview question exists: they are tried and tested means of finding out if a candiate is a proper fit for the company.

      Preguntas de entrevista [1]

      Pregunta 1

Kept asking for my salary despite listing it on my resume. See the interview process. There wasn't any difficult question(s) asked.
