      Entrevista

A couple phone screeners before meeting in person. Met with the various heads of departments, and everyone was friendly and seemed like a nice team to work with. Challenging technical questions and recommend really familiarizing yourself with the platform and competitors prior. Be prepared with good questions. Felt like they were more interested in what question I had, than asking questions of me.

      Entrevista

This started out as one of the most positive experiences I had and slowly turned into THE MOST negative, and least professionals ones ever. The short of it: they emailed and called me about 5 different times over the course of a 4 month period saying they wanted to extend an offer and then ghosted me every time after that. For details, see below. They seem like a great team but this was a truly shocking experience that I'd warn anyone not to get taken in by them. I first spoke with them on the phone in February, and then went in for an in-person interview the next week with the VP of customer success and Head of Account Management. Both of whom were/are fantastic and highly intelligent people so I was quite excited by the prospect of learning from them both. By early March, I received another job offer and as promised, called LiveAuctioneers to let them know. I spoke with the VP and he was candid and supportive. I left feeling good about the company and understood they still needed more time but I took a leap of faith and turned down the other company. By mid March, the hiring manager reached out with the exact words that they "..all agree that you are our favorite candidate for this role...will have an offer letter sent to you on Thursday. " Thursday rolls by and nothing but I carry on to have 4 more video interviews with other key team members -- all of whom, seemed great and reflected a positive experience working there. They were also very supportive and indicated they felt I would be a good fit, the CEO ended our conversation with "we'll reach out sooner rather than later." By early April, having heard nothing I reach out to follow up with the hiring manager. No response. By end April, having heard nothing I reach out to follow up with him AGAIN. No response. At this stage, I've made my peace that my time has been wasted by them and have now moved into talks with other companies until... May comes and the hiring manager reaches out to apologise for the lapse and say they're still keen on me. He called me to put forward a verbal offer but after having turned down my first 6-figure salary for them to only waste my time, my new offers on the table were promising double their offer. I wanted to keep to my word from our prior conversations so I asked if there was any wiggle room in comp but not expecting them to match my other offers. He said he would get back to me. 4 days later, same hiring manager emails me to say he's still working on it but they're still excited to move forward. He ends his email on May 8 with "Will be in touch again as soon as possible." I respond with enthusiasm saying I'm excited. It's now July and he never got in touch again. I've personally never gone through such a horrible and unjustifiable lack of professionalism. If you expect people to respect your time and act with transparency, the least you can do is respect theirs and return the same transparency. I'd warn anyone considering joining them to not stop interviewing with other companies and not to turn down other offers unless they've submitted a formal offer letter and contract.
