Uncertain and sporadic are the two words that come to my mind. I was expecting a professional approach to the interviewing candidates, Since the mission of the company is to tie up every professional with an economic opportunity. I was blatantly surprised with a lack of direction in terms of what their requirements are for the role in hand. The reporting relationship and responsibilities changed every time I spoke to them. I don’t have anything against the HR, they were quite professional in communicating what was happening behind the scenes on follow up, but I do have a concern on the hiring manager’s approach to the interview. 1st round interview went well and I very much liked my discussion with the hiring manager based out of US. However the 2nd round set up was a nightmare. Nearly 3 times the call was re-scheduled, and 2 out of the 3 times, the Hiring manager didn’t even show up, thanks to all the lame excuses put up as to why he didn’t show up. Since I was driven by the mission of the company, and some day I wanted to work for this company, I wasn’t flustered by Hiring manager’s approach to the interview schedule. I thought the interview went well, there were occasions were I felt the Hiring Manager wasn’t interested to listen to my side of the story, he was just interested in getting the model answers out of me or answers he thought were correct according to his perception. Wake up!, your hiring managers represent your company as much as your brand, don’t tarnish it with unprofessionalism. The Euphemism you live in is temporary, if you don’t follow what you preach and you will loose quality candidates to your competitors.

Asked to describe fit in company in Japanese. Despite that the job description said Japanese speaking language is optional (preferred but not mandatory). As a result, the interview was stopped part way through as they actually wanted someone fluent in Japanese

30min call with recruiter, then 45 min round with HM. The HM did not seem to be interested, was on phone while I was writing the SQL queries. SQL and visualization questions were not structured.
