Me postulé en línea. El proceso tomó 2 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en Linguamatics (Cambridge, East of England, England) en feb 2017

      Entrevista

I had one phone interview and then I was submitted a technical test. The interview was 1h conversation on the phone with CTO that covered topics on my university background and my previous job. That part went smoothly. Then I was told we would be moving to some technical question about linguistics. I was asked about the difference between dependency parsing and constituency parsing. The next questions were about rather specific medical vocabulary, but I was not warned that we would be changing to that field or that we would be covering it whatsoever during the interview, nor was it mentione in the job offer description (in fact, it took me a minute to realize that they were asking about medical terms, I assumed we were discussing lingustics). After the interview, I received a technical test to be resolved during the weekend. I was also scheduled a second interview to discuss the test results. However, after submitting the results, the interview was cancelled because the results weren´t good enough. What I didn't like about the interview process: - Being abruptly asked about specific medical terminology. The level of detail of the medical questions they made seemed irrelevant and unnecessary for the job offer and it seemed rather aimed at confusing the candidate. It made the interview process difficult, in an irrelevant way. - Not knowing why they rejected my test. I'm aware that another interview would have been a waste of time for both sides if I was already out of the process, but if I spent my Sunday morning resolving their test, the least they could do is explain a bit why the results were not what they were expecting or what type of approach that I didn´t take they were expecting for the excercise.
