Long, confusing, opaque, and not as initially advertised by HR. Scheduling was off, communication scattered. Sensed the hiring team to be amateurish and sloppy. The sense is also that the team is operating within a chaotic and unstructured environment which can lead to over-work. Was told by a member of the hiring team that it’s not unusual for them to put their kids to sleep and log back in to finish work. My internal reaction? If you manage workload, prioritize effectively, and work in a well organized environment, you shouldn’t need to do that on a regular basis. Please stop glorifying a lack of work life balance in the legal profession. It’s really not a good look. Had every intention of declining further interviews or an offer after I was told at the 4th interview that there were still 4 candidates in running and that there may be 2 additional interviews. Overall, the experience made me realize how good I have it in my current organization!
